Job Description
We are seeking a Catering Manager to join our team! This role oversees all Catering operations at a top 25 University in Indiana!
Position Summary
Responsible for developing and executing catering solutions to meet customer needs. Facilitates the delivery of prepared food created from an event-specific work order
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates commitment to the vision, values and missions through actions on a daily basis.
- Manage staff to include selection, work allocation, training, coaching and mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation and feedback, and corrective action.
- Deliver consistent quality in planning and execution of events.
- Leverage established company solutions to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency within consumer driven offerings
- Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships.
- Responsible for delivering food and labor targets.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve catering revenue forecasts.
- Train and manage team members to ensure knowledge of food menus and promotional calendars.
- Plan and execute team meetings and daily huddles.
- Complete and maintain all staff records including training records, schedules and performance data.
- Ensure accurate reporting of all catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables.
Required:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of food service or catering experience and prior experience in a management role
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Solid knowledge of financials
- Proficient in MS Office
- Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Service Manager)
