Restaurant Manager Essential Abilities & Functions
  • Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion
  • Manages all sales-building initiatives, promotions and marketing programs
  • Writes all FOH and BOH employee weekly schedules in order to stay in line with weekly forecasting of labor based on business trends
  • Oversees FOH and BOH employee performance management, including feedback, mentoring, coaching and discipline as warranted. Coaches, promotes, counsels, disciplines and/or terminates employees as needed and/or provides recommendations which are given substantial consideration
  • Leads by example and sets the tone each shift with a professional, responsible and mature style
  • Manages the profitability of the restaurant and all related controllable items, (including but not limited to food, beer, liquor and wine cost of goods, labor, supplies, R&M, comps, and voids) to maximize profitability on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Performs weekly bar inventory to ensure there is a properly stocked bar and that cost of goods is in line with the target
  • Ensures guests are given impeccable service and hospitality by implementing and upholding hospitality standards in the restaurants and teaching, coaching and holding employees accountable daily
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate food safety, food-handling and food storage procedures and systems are in place and are followed by all employees daily, maintaining compliance with all food safety laws, regulations, and standards
Restaurant Manager Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
  • Associate' s degree preferred
  • 2-3 years restaurant management or equivalent experience
  • Valid current ServSafe certification (or willing to become certified, if not already)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a leadership role with employees, guests, vendors and others
  • Ability to use basic word processing, excel and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to use restaurant-specific point of sale systems
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus
