We are searching for a Plant Engineer for a well-established, growing company! The ideal candidate for the Plant Engineer will be responsible for overall Plant Engineering. Cap Ex Projects and Maintenance activities for the manufacturing operation. This includes studying existing and new processes to help identify and implement improvement opportunities.

Plant Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develops and/or assist others in developing workable process solutions to meet the requirements of the business. Manages Plant Cap-Ex projects from ideation to execution. Manages facility ammonia and PSM program to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Investigate, research, assess, evaluate, and /or propose ideas for new or modified processes and products. Clarify process issues early in the project life in order to minimize resources utilization and development costs
  • Provides technical support to the manufacturing plants, including conceptualization of capital projects, troubleshooting, training, management and or providing support of process changes and implementation of the specified solutions. In this role, the Process Engineer will validate projects as needed, and either lead or take an active part in the post-start-up reviews and assessments. Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems. Improve process capability and production volume while maintain and improving quality standards.
  • Provide technical input to the business, manufacturing and R&D organizations in support of process improvement efforts. R&D programs, capital plans, and business plans evaluated and improve processes in manufacturing systems. Identify cost reduction and capacity improvement ideas. Support safety studies and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Maintain safe and environmentally sound operation of units through periodic safety meeting, encourage reporting of all incidents, investigation and corrective actions proposal for all incidents, as well as ensuring that no major environmental incidents occur via proper inspections.

Plant Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree preferred (Ammonia certification and PSM certification).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in developing and managing PSM and Preventative Maintenance Programs required.
  • Demonstrated ability and growth potential to progress to higher levels of leadership within the organization.
  • Knowledge of instrument design and assembly, preferably hands-on experience with maintenance, repair troubleshooting, investigation incidents, identifying the root cause, and documenting findings.
  • Must possess knowledge of process improvement techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing and Sx Sigma/Greenbelt.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong track record of successful process/project work and problem-solving.
