Latoya has enjoyed over 25 years serving in academia, restaurant, hotel, and aviation sectors. Most of her professional experience was in aviation, serving first as a flight attendant and later as a cabin crew instructor conducting regulatory training in compliance with international guidelines, and collaboratively developing a Leadership Empowerment Program that certified team members according to international standards. Additionally, she also held roles as restaurant AGM & GM, and currently holds an Affiliate Professorship. Latoya's diverse managerial industry experiences are enhanced by her academic qualifications. She earned her Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration from Oklahoma State University (OSU). Prior to OSU, she received her Master of Arts in Communication for Social and Behavior Change from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management (Hons) from Florida International University (FIU).

On a personal note, Latoya and her husband Larry are both avid soccer and track and field enthusiasts. They enjoy volunteering, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
